About our photographic workshops:  A Focus 10 workshop is a 'hands on', practical and enjoyable way to improve your photographic skills, experience new places and make new friends.  We take a photojournalist approach throughout with a brief to capture the ambience of the location, the faces, the essence of the moment. Each workshop has a certain theme enabling you to develop skills over a wide range of photographic disciplines.  Each location workshop has its own flavour and photographic theme. A Bondi workshop concentrates on colour, unusual angles, motion... A Sydney Rocks workshop will include shooting architecture, a South head workshop is more nature oriented, a camera handling workshop is ‘hands on’ where you can play around with different camera, lenses, accessories and computer systems.

Digital 1 PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE

(Sydney and Melbourne)
Introduces beginners and intermediate photographers into the fabulous world of digital imaging.  We focus on practical 'hands on' shooting with a strong emphasis on camera handling... not sitting in a classroom learning theory. There's intuitive instruction on lighting and photo composition along with everything from exposure control to flash/night photography, from ISO settings to focus options. 

Select from a full day 8 hour condensed course held weekly in Sydney and every month in Melbourne or a 13 hour Sydney 3 week long course spread out over 3 consecutive Monday or Wednesday nights with a weekend workshop.

Digital 2 photography course

(Sydney & Melbourne)

Designed to impart a high level of proficiency to the serious amateur photographer or to someone considering a career in photography. This course teaches you the skills set to shoot at a professional level. You will move up several notches learning how to shoot catalogue, magazine and book style cameo and macro images, quality studio and outdoor portraiture and fine arts photography.

Creative compacts

Here's an opportunity for beginners to learn the art and technique of photographing with the compact digital camera in a supportive, patient, and fun-filled atmosphere - where the "point & shoot" is on capture those dynamic, sensational shots!  By the end of the course, you will have gained confidence and a deeper trust in your abilities and vision of what makes a good photograph, emphasis on the photographic image, as well as a better understanding of your camera's functions.

Photo traveller course

We begin by reviewing such basics as shutter speed, depth of field, lens choice, fill-flash, then venture "beyond the camera," learning to be in the moment, recognizing and working with different qualities of light, and discovering new ways to compose images that capture the essence of place. This course is a great "all rounder" for beginners to intermediate/ advanced level photographers, in a "hands on" outdoor environment - and designed for both digital and film camera users.

This intensive  digital studio photography course covers both portraiture and still life photography giving you the skills and confidence to create stunning, controlled photographs. With access to a wide range of lighting and accessories you will have the chance to experiment with new equipment, develop your understanding of lighting techniques and appreciate how the choice of lighting affects the final image.

Student / youth photography course

An educational, zany, fun, inspirational photography course designed to release the creative energies of an entire new digitally aware generation of young creative inspirational youths. Our subject material matches their cultural and visual awareness and fuses photography with graphic design, computers, multi media. The courses are scheduled during school holidays to give teenagers constructive use of their time.

This videography course is ideal for those wishing to learn how to shoot quality, clean footage of their friends, kids, travels, events, documentary...Anything! It looks at the newest technologies in video cams, lighting, pre shoot planning, telling a story, intuitive composition, white balance, sound, mixing and editing to produce a quality feature video and stills clips. It also gives you skills in storyboarding, casting and art direction.

Bondi to Bronte photography workshop

Walking from Bondi to Tamarama offers unparalleled photographic opportunities and subjects. It's the golden sands, the curving surf line following the eye to the headlands, the changing kaleidoscope of land, sea and sky. This workshop has a particular focus on seascapes, colour, action and lifestyle. We show you how to shoot reportage style, interactive shots such as the Tamarama beach café scene and how to take fine art shots of the Bronte sea pool.

South head photography workshop

An advanced workshop in a beautiful area of Sydney where we capture the contrasting moods of the more tranquil Sydney Harbour and the big cliffs and surf of

Bobbin head photography workshop

Well known by the original inhabitants, the Guringai aborigines - the Hawkesbury, Ku-ring-gai and Berowra wilderness areas is a unique nature workshop in the heart of a large city. On this delightful walk, we pass underneath towering sandstone escarpments, see scarlet rosellas sweep across the sky, photograph native wallabies and silently come across wildlife as we meander up tidal creeks. The program has a focus on nature, black and white, macro, texture, patterns and boats.

Rocks and Gardens photography workshop

3801 steam train photography tour

Wildlife photography workshop

Black and white/ fine art photography workshop

Learn how to visualise in black and white. The main obvious difference is that you’re unable to use colour to lead the eye into or around your shot. This means you need to train yourself to look at shapes, tones and textures in your frame as points of interest. Pay particularly attention to shadows and highlights which will become a feature of your shot.... Light is the chief foundation for evocative, romantic, compelling images....and for creating timeless black and white fine art masterpieces.

hosting, book creation, make DVD’s and other applications. Whilst we use Apple Macs and the associated software for editing images, the tips and techniques shown are equally applicable to PC users. This post production workshop also looks at album printing, book creation and fine art canvas and conventional displays.
