DESCRIPTION:

The digital camera is now considered an essential tool for estate agents, architects, designers, professionals and travellers who take interior and exterior photos of buildings.

 

This course will steer you through the essential tools needed and the technique required to shoot quality, dynamic, creative and emotive shots which portrays your clients property in the best possible light. Great photographs of properties and the ability to turn a drab, unappealing property into something attractive for prospective buyers adds value to the property and enhances your business professionalism. For travellers and lovers of fine architecture, you gain the skills to bring back evocative, memorable images of places you have stayed or visited.

The course will also appeal to photographers needing to learn more about flash gun techniques and shooting under a wide range of difficult lighting conditions.  Many of our course students just love still life photography and shooting architecture. In this course they will learn from how to shoot a 1605 Jacobean country home, classic Georgian terraces, Cotswold cottages, Italian villas, Greek tavernas, Turkish mosques, Canadian log cabins...and closer to home... iconic Sydney landmark buildings such as the Opera House, Sydney Barracks, Vaucluse and Strickland house and some prime Sydney residential houses.

Your instructor, Andrew Thomasson, is a professional real estate and commercial photographer who shoots for a number of Sydney and London based real estate companies, holiday house agents and for the Property Council of Australia. He has been teaching the Architecture and Real Estate Photography courses for 3 years.

 
     

Pre-requisite:

None

 
     

requirements:

  • We recommend you have a DLSR camera with a wide angle such as a Canon EOS 30D, 40D,50D, 300, 350, 400, 450D,500D, 5D, 7D,  EOS 1 Nikon D80, D200, D300, D3, D700. Any DLSR camera.

  • At least one quality wide angle lens such as a 12-24mm. You could get away with an 18mm (such as the 18-55 Canon or 18-55 Nikkor kit lenses.

  • We cater for compacts such as the Canon G10, G11 with wide angle adapter lenses and compacts such as the Panasonic Lumix LX3, Nikon Coolpix range with wide angles and the superlative Leica M9 rangefinder

  • Memory Card(s):  We recommend at least a 2GB card for each 8 hour session of shooting

  • Essential - A sturdy tripod (we sell/ hire Manfrotto 725B tripods)

  • Non essential – polarizing filter and external flash unit

  • Charged camera battery and a spare if you have one
