"When you are tired
of London you are
tired of life" so
wrote Samuel
Johnson. London has
an endless variety
of subjects to shoot
- the Changing of
the Guard at
Buckingham Palace,
the Tower of London,
Big Ben, St. Paul’s
Cathedral, Covent
Garden market,
Notting Hill, Soho
street markets,
Westminster Abbey,
The National Gallery
and many other
famous landmarks.
Our workshop
commences on
Thursday night
allowing us ample
time to capture the
long soft evening
light over the
Houses of
parliament, the
London Eye, Big Ben
and reflections on
the Thames. The next
morning we first
visit the very
quirky and quaint
Nottage Hill, walk
through Hyde Park
via Buckingham
Palace to
Knightsbridge,
Harrods and Kings
Road. In mid
afternoon we take a
trip down the Thames
on a boat to the Old
Royal Observatory
and to Greenwich
Pier where the
sunset is
reminiscent of a
Turner watercolour
and the view over
the city and the
Dome superb. We dine
at a famous British
pub such as the Dog
and Duck finishing
our exhilarating day
with a well deserved
glass of wine.
This action packed
workshop captures
the flavour and
ambience of London -
the ever present
splashes of red from
the rumbling
Routemasters, the
bowler hatted
businessmen, the
famous London taxi,
the speakers at Hyde
Park Corner, the
pigeon lady in
Trafalgar Square. It
is the character of
London that makes it
such a brilliant
city; the mix of old
and new, the
quaintness, the
quirkiness and in
essence, the life.
We have designed the
program to fit in
with our Paris
workshop
where we are taking
the Euro star early
on
Tuesday
morning
(
24 Aug) to Paris. |
