Our practical workshops are all about low-light and night photography techniques which can equally be applied to shooting any urban or outdoor area in the world at dawn, dusk or long into the night. Learn how to take photographs of the twilight and night sky, find out how to paint with light, to select the correct camera settings, shooting RAW, ISO, white balance, shutter speed and aperture settings. Learn about the best tripods, pre-location recce techniques, the best lenses, star bursting, composition, balancing ambient light with flash, zooming, light trails and more. This evening is also a fun, social occasion. A great way to make new friends.

■ An all rounder zoom such as a 18-55mm, 24-105mm most useful
■ Memory Card(s): we recommend at least a 4 GB card for each session of shooting
■ Charged camera battery and a spare if you have one
■ A wide-angle is useful for landscapes. A telephoto for wildlife

Andrew photographed our wedding in the English Lake District last August and did a brilliant job! He shot from 10am to 2am in the morning and the thousands of imaging are fantastic. Now I have my own photography business i know what pressure is like on these long shoots
